Club Outing – Goose Lake
June 15, 2019
FreeJoin fellow members for an outing to Goose Lake near Mt Adams, Washington. Goose Lake is a 58 acre lake that offers 18 campsites for those who want to spend the night. There is no limit on anglers and no cost to fish other than the $5 per vehicle parking fee for the day. The drive time from Portland is 1.5 hours. Bring your own food. A Washington fishing license is required.
Goose Lake is stocked with Rainbow, Cutthroat, Brook, & a few Brown Trout. It is possible to achieve a four species “slam” if the stars align. The lake is around 14′ deep at its deepest area, but much of the bottom are shoals of 6-8 feet in depth. Dry fly fishing can be good some days, and most Stillwater patterns will produce. Anglers should bring a floating device as the fishing from shore is limited due to trees. Both floating and sinking lines are useful.
