2023 Conservation RFP Issued

The Flyfisher Foundation distributed its 2023 conservation request for proposals (RFP) on Friday, December 2, 2022 to over 20 conservation organizations.  Proposals are due to John Pyrch, TFF President and Grant Chairman, by no later than Friday, February 3, 2023.  Because it is uncertain if we will have our annual auction in 2023, we are guaranteeing at least $10,000 to the winning proposal.  The Foundation has granted over $360,000 to numerous conservation organizations over the last 25 years.  FCO members should be very proud of this funding tradition.  Your continued membership in the FCO supports this very successful activity.  Thank you.

Jim Hillas steelhead fishing on the Lower Deschutes

Yes, the above photo of the lower Deschutes in mid-October is artful if not enticing. So the story goes that fishing buddies, Jim Hillas and Rick Pay, booked a trip with Deschutes guide extraordinaire Brian Silvey in October. I believe Rick was the photographer but Jim had his line in the water at the right time. Close to the end of the trip in an undisclosed location above Mack’s Canyon takeout, Jim was treated to the spectacular fish below. Congrats Jim and thanks for reminding your editor to post the pics! Readers, you can send yours with a brief description to the Flyline Editor so we can all be jealous!
