Michael Knapp & Rachel Walsh – World Salmon Council

World Salmon Council is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that operates the Salmon Watch environmental education program. Using the story of salmon as a focal point, Salmon Watch teaches middle and high school students about Pacific Northwest watershed ecology. Each year, Salmon Watch takes over 1,500 students outdoors to pristine river and stream sites to connect with the natural world and give them the opportunity to witness wild salmon spawning, likely for the first time. Through these experiences, students gain a greater understanding and empathy for nature that will stay with them for years to come.
