Members and guests enjoy the 2021 FCO picnic.

 

July 04th 2022 our great nation celebrated its 246th Birthday, known as Independence Day – A day to relax with friends and family, enjoy parades, picnics, BBQ’s and incredible fireworks.

Club Treasurer Needed

We are recruiting a new Treasurer for the Flyfisher’s Club. The FCO is an all-volunteer club. We are all busy with our own lives, families, and various activities. The time commitment is not that burdensome and the term would be 1 year. I would be more than happy to answer any questions and my cell number is: 503-449-1228.

Deschutes Steelhead Watch

Many of you are wondering if the Deschutes and other rivers will be open for the summer steelhead season. Much depends on the number of unclipped steelhead returning through Bonneville dam. The magic number is 9900. To view the daily fish counts to website is: www.fpc.org. As of July 04, the number was 4936.

We have several awesome events scheduled:

July 12 Evan Unti will be presenting – Euro nymphing.

The dinner presentation will be held at the University Club. Email notices have been sent to members. Please sign up for a wonder presentation and an evening to catch up with your fellow members.

 

2017 Casting Picnic

August 09th FCO Annual Picnic at the Westmorland Casting Ponds. This is a free event – please invite a friend who enjoys fishing. There will fun contests by:  Royal Treatment Fly Fishing, Northwest Fly-Fishing Outfitters, and The Portland Fly Shop. Those who participate have an opportunity to win some cool prizes. Di Nicola’s, a favorite Portland restaurant, will be providing delicious food. The FCO will have drawings for fun prizes as well. Please bring your own chairs and favorite beverages. The FCO will provide bottled water. Watch for an email announcing the sign up or head to the FCO Website Homepage in early August for the link to sign up.
