Presenter: Evan Unti Guide for Deschutes Angler Fly Shop

This presentation will focus on European/Competitive fishing techniques and strategies. Most anglers have heard about Euro Nymphing but have not considered the variety of methods that can be utilized with the same equipment, such as dry-dropper and streamer fishing. Euro fishing strategies open a whole new world of angling opportunity that is technical, engaging, highly productive, and super fun. Topics will include basic equipment, rigging, fly patterns and how to execute proper technique with different methods from nymphing, to dry-dropper fishing to streamer fishing. If you are interested in expanding your angling repertoire or are curious about this new cutting-edge segment of trout angling, then tune in on March 9th.

Bio:

I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, but spent a full eight years living in the southern region of the state. After graduating from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, I worked in a fly shop and fished all over southern Oregon and northern California for both trout and steelhead. I joined the Deschutes Angler Fly Shop guide team in 2006. I have been guiding for Deschutes Angler full-time since then on both the Deschutes and John Day rivers for trout, steelhead and smallies. Over the course of my tenure I have become the resident Euro nymph expert and instruct all the clinics and camps that we offer. In addition, I also teach all of the Spey casting classes and steelhead camps.  When I am not guiding or fishing, which is most of the time, you can find me working on my wife and I’s small organic farm with my daughter and two dogs
