Free Copies of Historical Creel Issues
The Creel is the Bulletin of the Flyfishers’ Club of Oregon. The first edition was published in December 1961. Subsequent editions were distributed periodically until 2008. There are several extra copies of the July 1966 to 2008 editions (17 of the total 24 issues originally published). If you are interested in adding any of these issues to your FCO collection please contact John Pyrch at 971-244-3289 or jbpyrch@gmail.com). These out-of-print editions are real collectors’ items. They provide a great introduction to the history and literary legacy of the FCO. This may be your final opportunity to own these rare documents.

Member Bill Valenti sends this snippet: A widow shared that her late husband was a Scotsman whose family owned tea plantations in India for many generations. An avid fly fisherman, he and his fishing mates would make their way down a particular river in India, and then return to camp…on elephants. Editor’s Note: I wonder if any of our intrepid members have traveled to India to fish with elephant guides. If so, feel free to share your experience by contacting your Flyline editor! lkh
