We also be electing our Club officers for 2026 at this meeting.
There will be a free bonus session starting at 5:30 p.m. for this event. Frank Rodreguiz will lead a session TALKING ABOUT, BUILDING and SHARING LEADER FORMULAS and KNOTS.
We will have the chance to discuss the basic concepts of leader design and function. We’ll cover formulas for tying your own tapered leaders for trout, steelhead, or saltwater and matching the butt section to the fly line for smooth power transfer. We will cover ways to modify store-bought leaders for your desired performance. If there’s interest, Frank will review basic fly fishing knots. He’ll bring models of the key knots we can practice if desired: perfection loop, blood knot, surgeon’s knot, Duncan’s Loop, and the Bimini Twist.
Gear: Your presence is the most important component. If you know your leader and knot needs, bring a sample or other materials so you can get the most out of our experience.
