Amy Hazel, “Second Mouth of the Deschutes,” Speaks Out on the State of Deschutes Water Quality
Deschutes Angler co-owner and avid Deschutes supporter, Amy Hazel, was interviewed last month by Oregon Public Broadcasting to expand awareness of water quality issues on one of our favorite Oregon rivers. The title is somewhat ominous – Giving Voice to an Ailing River. Amy recants how she has seen the river change over the the past 10+ years, particularly with the growth of nuisance algae. She attributes declining dry fly fishing success to the river’s changes since the Pelton Round Butte Complex went on line in 2009. Check out the article and take a listen to the 5 minute interview with OPB’s Bradley Parks. Good job Amy!
