Tom McAllister FCO Graduate Scholarship Recipients
Background: Since 1997, The Flyfisher Foundation has provided a scholarship annually to an Oregon State University graduate student whose thesis pertains to wild fish populations in Oregon and adjacent waters. The Tom McAllister Flyfisher Club of Oregon Scholarship is open to science majors from the Zoology, Marine Science, Microbiology, Forestry and Fishery departments.
Tom McAllister had a long and storied career as an outdoor writer for the Oregon Journal and the Oregonian. As a lifelong fly-fisherman, he served as head of the Flyfishers’ Club of Oregon, but more importantly, he inspired naturalists throughout Oregon.
