Club Dinner Meeting & Holiday Celebration featuring Tom Bie of The Drake Magazine***sold out – raffle tickets still available***

Club Dinner Meeting and Holiday Celebration
featuring Tom Bie, founder and editor of The Drake Magazine
Tom Bie, the featured speaker for the December dinner meeting and Holiday Celebration, was born and raised in Oregon. A journalism graduate from Oregon State University, Bie founded The Drake Magazine nearly 20 years ago and has grown it into North America’s leading print magazine “for those who fish”.
A passionate angler and conservationist, Bie lives and works in Denver for about half the year and spends most of the balance of the year living on the Oregon Coast, where he chases steelhead as much as time allows. Despite publishing schedules, he somehow manages to mix in a trip or two annually to fish somewhere else in the world.
His presentation at the December 9 dinner meeting will offer his insights into the world of fly fishing from the perspective of an editor and publisher of the country’s best and largest flyfishing magazine. He will also take us on a virtual tour of the saltwater flats he has fished, spanning from Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula to the main flats of Belize. Additionally, he will share highlights from a recent trip he made to Christmas Island and Fanning Atoll.
Celebrate the holidays with friends and hear from Oregon’s own Tom Bie.
When: December 9th, extended wet fly hour with raffle starting at 5:30 pm.
Where: The University Club, 1225 SW 6th Ave, Portland
