CANCELLED – Club Outing – Timothy Lake
September 19, 2020
CANCELLED DUE TO FIRE DANGER – Join fellow members for an outing to Timothy Lake in the Mt Hood National Forest. Created by damning the Oak Grove Fork of the Clackamas River, Timothy Lake is a large lake of over 1,300 acres. We will meet at the Oak Fork Campground/day-use area. There is no limit on anglers and no cost to fish other than the $5 per vehicle parking fee for the day. The drive time from Portland is 1.5 hours. Bring your own food.
Timothy Lake is stocked with rainbow trout, brook trout, and kokanee. Timothy can have outstanding fly fishing, but being such a big lake it can be a challenge zeroing in on a concentration of fish. In the fall inlets can produce well. It is a fairly deep lake in places (up to 80′), so sinking lines are also useful. A watercraft of some kind is necessary as the shore is tree-lined. It should be a fun day!
